The diagnosis
A gas distribution family wanted a fair, workable succession. The deciding point was the three heirs' career choices: two worked in the business, while the third was pursuing medicine and did not want to join the operating company.
The strategy
We separated real estate from operating assets. All properties were centralized in a Family Asset Holding, securing one third for each child in the future. Control of the distributor went to the two managing heirs, 50% each, with no loss of wealth for the heir who is not in the business.
The result
A structured transition validated by a Family Protocol, with equal protection of the estate and continuity of the business, and no forced partnership.
What it secured
- Respect for each heir's individual interests
- A fair split between real estate and the operation
- A Family Protocol as the rule for living together
- Continuity of the operation and the family legacy
